Week 2 is up tomorrow night at 5:30 PM! I spoke to each one of you guys about last week and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. For those of you asking about the ratings, I spoke to the PDGA and they will be calculated when the league report is finalized and submitted at the end of the season. The Scratch Scoring Estimate for this course is 20.2 on 9 holes so about 40 on 18 holes. If you shoot an average 40 on 18 this season, you will have a rating of 1000 which is “top pro” level. There are only 214 1000+ rated players in the world and only 1 of them is from Massachusetts.

Week 1 Results:

Jonny Taylor came out and took first place in Week 1 shooting -7. Dan Gaines came in second place finishing -5. It was close right until the end but Jonny came through in the clutch and birdied the final three holes. An honorable mention from Week 1 is Marc Winer who was -5 through 12 holes before he had to leave.

Week 1 Achievements:

Kolby Kilhart recorded 2 eagles

Jonny Taylor had a 4 hole birdie stretch

I can only tell so much from looking at the scorecard but it would be cool if you guys let me know 1 or 2 “good shots” from your group each week so I can include it in this section of the weekly update.

Groups:

Changing up the groups a little because I don’t want to send out a group of 5 this week. Here are the groups and starting holes for Week 2. I should have you grouped with any of your requested playing partners but if not just let me know and I can make a last minute switch.

Group 2: Start on Hole 2

Group 3: Start on Hole 4

Group 4: Start on Hole 7

Prizes:

Prizes have been updated and you can get a complete summary here. I show a breakdown of the entry fees, prizes, and PDGA Registration fees.

Ace Pot:

Ace Pot is up to $47 this week with potential for more based on however many join. $3 to buy in and you can venmo @kofsports with the description “Ace Pot Week 2.” It’s probably good luck to include the chains emoji but that’s up to you. You can enter right up until 5:30 tomorrow but if you send after 5:30 then you’re not eligible.

Scoring:

One member from each group should log in to PDGA Live Scoring to keep score for the group. You can work it out within your groups and rotate each week if you would like.

Go to www.PDGA.com/score and enter access code (ask me for it) to log in and keep score.

You can also email a screenshot of your scores to me each week if you prefer so I can verify. 413discgolf@gmail.com

Scoring worked out well for everyone in Week 1 so keep it going this week. Whoever keeps score in your group needs to make sure that they tap each player’s name at the end of the round to finalize the scorecard. Let me know if you have any questions.

Out of bounds:

OUT OF BOUNDS = if you throw over a fence on any hole, you can retrieve your disc and play if from the point at which you went out of bounds. 1 stroke penalty. Woods on 1 and 4 are not OB if you want to play from your lie. You do have the option to play from where you entered the woods. However, if you pull out and play from the spot that you went into the woods then it’s a 1 stroke penalty.

League Vote:

I asked for some feedback last week and there has been a motion to move the tee box on Hole 3. Something for you guys to think about in your round this week and send me your vote “Yes move it” or “No leave it.” The thought is that the new tee box would be moved back and to the right by the sidewalk. We would change to a Par 3 and the distance would be 180-220ish feet. If we get a unanimous vote, we will implement for Week 3 but play the standard tee box for Week 2.

Weather is looking NICE for tomorrow night so it should be a fun and successful Week 2. Have fun and somebody please hit an ACE!

Looking forward to seeing you guys out there.

Kolby
