413 Disc Golf Introduction

I'd like to take some time to introduce myself and give you a little bit of info on the vision that I have for 413 Disc Golf. My name is Kolby Kilhart and I have been playing disc golf for less than two years. Like many of you, I have picked up the sport and instantly fell in love with it. Sure it can be frustrating at times early on as you are learning but something about it has you itching to get back out on the course after you finish your round! I hope that 413 Disc Golf can build a community for disc golfers in the Western MA area.

Leagues/Tournaments

Tournaments are becoming very popular as the sport continues to grow. So popular that tournaments are filling up within one minute of registration opening in early 2021. I hope that 413 Disc Golf can become established and offer more of these types of events. The first event for us will be the School Street Spring League that will be a six week league on Wednesday nights starting on March 31. These leagues and tournaments will allow players to play the game on a competitive level sanctioned with the PDGA. I have league management experience in other sports but I am looking to add to that with disc golf.

Community

413 Disc Golf will be a place for disc golfers to connect with other disc golfer. Whether you use the website/social media pages to connect to talk about discs or equipment or connect with eachother to coordinate your next round of play.

I am creating this group for the love of the game

I know that some disc golf veterans will see the creation of this group and think it's a money grab. I want to be clear right from the start that I am not doing this for the money. I am doing this for the love of the game to be able and give other disc golfers like myself a community and competitive environment to play the sport. I can assure you that the money generated from buy ins to our events will go back to the players who are playing and cover costs to operate the events.
